Selecting a Warehouse in Miami Florida – Which Option is Best for Your Company?

Before browsing the lists of the best 3PL companies in Miami or the top options for warehouses in Miami, the first critical task your company must perform is to decide what type of warehousing option best suits your business. The warehousing industry has grown tremendously over the last few decades, and the options are vast when choosing a warehousing and logistics strategy. Options range from performing all the warehousing and fulfillment in-house (utilizing a warehouse lease option) to completely outsourced options using a 3PL fulfillment center.

The most common options for warehousing in Miami include:

  • Leasing a Warehouse Space in Miami, Florida
  • Using a Co-Warehousing Space in Miami, Florida
  • Using Overflow Storage or Pallet Storage Warehousing in Miami, Florida
  • Using a 3PL Company in Florida or a Fulfillment Center in Florida

A Comparison of Warehouse Leasing, Co Warehousing, Overflow or Pallet in Pallet Out Warehousing, or Full-Scale Outsourcing with a 3PL or Fulfillment Center in Miami

To assist your business in choosing the right strategy for your Miami warehouse options, we’ve provided a more in-depth explanation of each warehouse strategy. Each option has distinctive pros and cons, so think carefully before deciding. Furthermore, despite what you read about these strategies online, no single option is best for everyone. Each business is completely unique, and therefore must execute on a logistics strategy that makes the most sense.

Leasing a Warehouse Space in Miami, Florida

For some companies, maintaining control over their warehouse operations in Miami will be of utmost importance. The strategy that makes the most sense when complete control is needed or desired to rent or lease a warehouse space in Miami. While the hands-on management of operations is most intense, utilizing this strategy because it requires taking on a long-term warehouse lease and managing staff, leasing, or renting a warehouse in Miami provides the greatest amount of control over every single detail of the logistics function.

Companies that use this strategy will not have to compete with some of the frustrations that come with outsourced warehousing – namely sharing time with other customers, lack of flexibility regarding warehousing and fulfillment specifications, and lack of control over the overall quality of output. It’s important to note that warehouse leasing in Miami generally starts at a minimum of 1,500-2,000+ square feet of space. If your business cannot commit to that size, there are other options available (see below).

  • Pros of leasing a warehouse in Miami, Florida: Complete control over every detail of the warehousing, fulfillment, and shipping function.
  • Cons of leasing a warehouse space in Miami, Florida: Fixed lease costs and managing employees and staff.
  • How to find the best warehouse for rent in Miami, Florida: There are only a few options for finding a warehouse for rent. First, you can search the extensive listings of warehouses for rent on many of the directory sites. OR, fill out our quick online form and we will get you in touch with commercial brokerage services that can take away the pain of searching for a warehouse to rent in Miami.

Using a Co-Warehousing Space in Miami, Florida

For those who want the control that comes with managing warehousing operations in Miami but do not have the size and scope of operations to manage a typical lease, co-warehousing is an amazing option for warehousing in Miami. Like co-working spaces, this is a newer option in the warehousing world that started gaining traction around 2020.

In the co-warehousing model, an entire warehouse space is subdivided into smaller, locked warehousing spaces that can each be leased separately by different companies. Typically, co-warehousing operations leases range from 200 square feet to 1,500 square feet, with the option to lease multiple areas contiguously. Furthermore, office spaces can typically be rented separately, and each member has full access to loading docks, pallet jacks or forklifts, shipping stations and other equipment.

  • Pros of using a co-warehousing space in Miami, Florida: Complete control over every detail of the warehousing, fulfillment, and shipping function, but at a fraction of the cost of typical warehouse leasing.
  • Cons of using a co-warehousing service in Miami, Florida: Your business will still have to take on a lease (fixed cost) and manage all the operations, and the amount of space available for lease is smaller than traditional warehouse leasing.
  • How to find the best co-warehousing in Miami, Florida: For many businesses, co-warehousing in Miami is a new service that they were unaware of. To get in touch with co-warehouses in Miami, simply fill out one of our online forms and we will match you with any available options.

Using Overflow Storage or Pallet Storage Warehousing in Miami, Florida

You may need a hybrid solution if your company has its warehouse but has run out of additional warehouse space. Additionally, if your business operates on more of a pallet in, pallet out basis, outsourced warehousing storage services may be an option that works well.

In this type of pallet storage warehousing arrangement, your company would store excess pallets or shippable pallets at a 3PL or public warehouse in Miami, and the third-party warehouse would receive the pallets, store them, and ship them to you or your customers as needed. This type of service is also referred to as “straight warehousing”, since there is no breakdown of pallets, nor is there any fulfillment of orders (only fulfillment required is of full pallets).

  • Pros of using overflow storage or pallet storage warehousing in Miami Florida: It serves as a great option for overflow storage or in cases where no breakdown of pallets is required.
  • Cons of using overflow storage or pallet storage warehousing in Miami Florida: This strategy does not work well for complex environments where picking and packing and traditional fulfillment is needed.
  • How to source an overflow storage or pallet storage warehousing service in Miami, Florida: Since 2005, we’ve matched companies with warehousing in Miami. Give us a call or fill out one of our online forms, and we will match you with the best pallet storage or overflow storage in Miami for your business!

Using a 3PL Company in Florida or a Fulfillment Center in Florida

3PL companies and fulfillment centers have grown in popularity over the years. They offer a completely outsourced model where they receive, store, and ship your products for you so that you don’t have to manage the process yourself. Every component of warehousing costs become variable, where you only pay for what you use, typically monthly. But don’t sign up just yet – outsourced 3PL companies in Miami, Florida also come with challenges, namely that you have no control over the quality and overall output (so choosing wisely is important!).

  • Pros of using a 3PL company or fulfillment center in Miami, Florida: Warehousing and fulfilment costs become variable, and you only pay for what you use. Furthermore, you do not have to perform the warehousing and fulfillment services yourself (but you do still have to manage the 3PL).
  • Cons of using a 3PL company or fulfillment center in Miami, Florida: You will not have the control over the operations, nor will you be able to do everything the way you want to necessarily (they usually have strict guidelines you must follow). In addition, there is no way possible that the fulfillment center in Miami will care as much as you do about your business. As such, there can be necessary quality gaps that you will have to accept to use this strategy.
  • How to find the best 3PL company or fulfillment center in Miami, Florida: Rather than search the listings yourself, not only wasting time but also discerning between recommendations and trying to figure out which ones you can trust, fill out one of our online forms and we will learn your requirements and hand-pick the best 3PLs in Miami for your business. There is no fee to use our service and you do not get charged a commission – we are unique, unbiased, and there is nothing that will negatively impact your overall pricing.

The Best Warehouses in Miami or 3PL Companies in Miami May Be Difficult to Find Online

The cold hard truth is that most of the companies that you’ll find at the top of the SERPs (search engine results pages) will either be extremely large organizations or extremely savvy regarding online marketing. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it does mean that there’s a good chance you won’t find the right choice for your business without extensive searching. In fact, that’s why we exist – since 2005 we’ve been searching warehouses in Miami and fulfillment centers in Miami and matching them with companies just like yours.

To give you an example of the challenge in finding the right fit for your business, we’ve searched the Web and compiled a listing of the companies most frequently mentioned in the top lists online. We aim to show you how slanted the lists are, and how challenging it would be to find the right company for your business if you solely relied on these lists.

Below are recent companies that appeared in various “top lists”, as well as our objective feedback on them. Please remember that, unlike the “top 3PL companies in Miami” lists out there, we have not been paid by any of these companies to be included in our review below. Furthermore, it’s interesting to note that NONE of these companies are in our database of companies that would be recommended to you if you use our service to find a fulfillment center in Miami! This gives you a great idea of just how difficult it may be to find the company that is truly the best for your unique situation.

The Best 3PL Companies in Miami, Florida: A Review of Some of the Best Fulfillment Companies in the Top Pages of the SERPs

Below is a listing of some of the most commonly listed 3PL companies in Miami and Fulfillment Centers in Miami.

Global Warehouse Solutions

Global Warehouse Solutions, located in Miami Gardens, Florida, is a top fulfillment center in the greater Miami area. The company has a 4.1 Star rating on Google (out of 5 Stars) and 91 Google reviews at the time of our assessment. This is a very healthy number of reviews, indicating that the review data is trustworthy. Global Warehouse Solutions offers a full-scale solution for its customers, from standard warehousing and storage solutions (including pallet storage) to 3PL services for B2C and B2B distribution. The company has over 540,000 square feet of storage space currently under management, but don’t let the large size of their operation fool you – they can help both small and growing companies as well as large scale businesses. Global Warehouse Solutions pricing is extremely competitive, and they are very transparent by giving details on their website. Not only is Global Warehouse Solutions a top rated Miami based fulfillment company, but it also has operations on the west coast of the United States as well, offering customers bi-coastal operations. In our research, we’ve found that you will be hard-pressed to find a more solid and high performing company than Global Warehouse Solutions.

Fulfillment Hub USA

Fulfillment Hub USA operates 7 locations within the US and four other global locations. One thing that stands out about Fulfillment Hub is that, at the time of this publication, it had 138 reviews on Google and a whopping 5.0-star review overall. This is almost unheard of, as we can’t remember when we’ve seen perfect reviews without complaints. Therefore, it should be researched more thoroughly if you consider them an option. We sincerely recommend directly speaking with some of their customers to assess their quality and capabilities. The company offers a good mix of services, ranging from FBA Prep to e-commerce fulfillment and wholesale distribution. While the company does seem to offer pricing for startups, we would strongly recommend checking with the company and clients to see if they match for smaller volume scenarios, as many multiple location companies are hesitant to work with smaller monthly order volumes. Furthermore, with the size and scope of 11 locations, we would recommend looking at whether or not they have high touch points and stellar customer service, as larger companies often implement a chat or email strategy for customer service.

Boxon Logistics Inc

Boxon Logistics is a software program for 3PL companies. Yes, you heard that right – it is a software company rather than a 3PL company in Miami. Why was this company included on some of the top lists for 3PL companies in Miami? That’s a great question that we can’t answer definitively for sure. However, our suspicion is that it is included on many lists as a paid participant for exposure. Nonetheless, while it may be an option for 3PL software, it is not a 3PL company itself and so we find it peculiar to be on some of the “top lists.”

G&G Cargo Service, Inc.

G&G Cargo group in Miami, Florida is a global freight forwarder. They specialize in residential moving, commercial moving, emergency moving, and do offer warehousing. At the time of this publication, we did see only 1 review (albeit a 5-star review). However, the lack of reviews begs the question – is this a top company or not? It would potentially be beneficial to hear from other customers to substantiate the claim. Furthermore, a typical 3PL company in Miami will offer a full suite of services, from pick and pack and fulfillment to e-commerce fulfillment – so it does appear that G&G is more specialized. Therefore, its ideal customers are more so people who need individual or commercial moving services and straight storage warehousing.

Miami Logistics Hub

This particular company is another interesting one – they showed up on a few review sites. However, at the time of this publication, their website was completely down. Is their website down for maintenance or have they ceased operations? We are unsure of the cause at this point but we cannot comment further on their operations without further information.

Freight Hub Group

When looking for 3PL companies in Miami, Florida, we suggest always probing deeper when a 3PL company produces its list and places itself on its list. As you can probably guess, Freight Hub Group places itself at the top of its list. This is a common practice for companies that use this strategy, and it “screams” of bias. As such, if considering this company, we strongly recommend speaking with customers and doing a great deal more research before coming to conclusions.

Shipmonk

Shipmonk began as a humble startup in 2014, helping small and growing e-commerce merchants. Today, the company has grown to a global 3PL with 12 locations worldwide. The company tends to get average reviews ranging from 3.5-4 stars out of 5. Some of the reviews are rather harsh and critical of errors and other problems experienced. This does tend to happen when a company grows and helps a high number of customers. However, the details of some of the reviews do cause a bit of a pause and certainly require more inspection. The company does have some great offerings and from a service perspective, offers the full suite of warehousing and fulfillment services.

International 3PL

With comprehensive 3PL services; supply chain efficiency, customer satisfaction and brand value growth come together to benefit you with International 3PL. They bridge the gap between your goods and your customers and specialize in designing efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions customized to client’s specific needs. This allows you to focus on core competencies and receive a logistical advantage over the competition using International 3PL’s professional third-party logistics services. With 60 online reviews on Google and a 4.9 Star rating, the company is rock solid in delivering for its clients. While they may not be best known for pick and pack and order fulfillment, they do seem to get great reviews for a high-quality of service related to standard bulk shipping and traditional B2B 3PL services.

Shipbob

Shipbob has locations across the globe – the US, Canada, Europe and Australia. The company is venture capital backed and has experienced rapid growth over the last few years. However, the company has struggled to deliver consistently high quality reviews to customers. On most review platform, the company has 2-3 Star ratings out of 5 stars. Furthermore, the company has long been known to specialize in B2C fulfillment. While it has offered B2B options, it’s quality hasn’t been as consistent. While this may likely be one of the most popular names in the industry, the company isn’t a shoo-in for small businesses and startups.
