Logistics is a very broad term referring to the overall supply chain process, starting with procurement of goods all the way to distributing those goods to end customers. A lot of times, logistics involves more of the movement of goods, or shipping, as opposed to traditional warehousing. For some this means shipping the finished goods from the manufacturer to a distribution warehouse, as well as shipping the product from the distribution warehouse to the end customer. On the other hand, supply chain management also involves the actual procurement of goods – or the sourcing of the goods from a manufacturer or supplier.
